partnership between local nonprofits in the state’s behavioral health administration, community members. they are hoping to secure additional funding for a program they say is saving veterans lives. piper van looked into the program and spoke with them about the hopes for more funding. >> next doctors, a nonprofit that is funded by the state of colorado. that funding helps provide resources for veterans in our community. as of right now, that money is set to expire in june. i spoke with people about the impact of this program house for veterans in our community. >> since the program started next, chapter says they have seen a reduction in suicide rates amongst veterans in paso county. this is a life saving program. >> there’s no question in our mind that veterans who were planning to take their life are still right today because next chapter. >> damien mccabe is a veteran who is now uc health‘s director of behavioral health and military affairs. he tells me if the bill is not passed, it could have a serious impact on the veteran community. the first resort would be. >> limiting that access to care because we would not have the dollars to underwrite or
