Local veteran organizations participated in wreaths across America, which honors the sacrifice of those who served. It included Rose Lawn down in Pueblo and the Pike’s Peak national cemetery in Colorado Springs. Organizers spoke to us about the importance of the event. Robert McLaughlin, Executive Director of the Mt. Carmel Veterans Center “When we all end up in our final resting place, we don’t wanna be forgotten we want people to know that we served and this is an opportunity to do that.” Planning began back in January with a goal of 42- hundred wreaths. Next year they hope to get six thousand.
