COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KKTV) – University of Colorado Colorado Springs (UCCS) and the Suicide Prevention Collaborative of El Paso County hosted a Suicide Prevention Summit on Friday. It highlighted some of the work happening in community surrounding suicide prevention.
Presentations and panels were held about youth and young adults, LGBTQI+, older adults, veterans, and more. Representitives from Mt. Carmel Veterans Center, Next Chapter, Silver Key Senior Services, Fountain Police Department, El Paso County Sheriff’s Office, Peak View Behavioral Health, UCCS and Inside Out Youth Services shared resources their organizations have available for those dealing with mental health issues, shared advice for those dealing with those problems and shared some of the signs of those dealing with thoughts of suicide.
