Two local organizations are working together to help military veterans in our community. New research finds suicide among veterans is on the rise – and Mt. Carmel and Next Chapter — want to turn that trend around. They’re focusing on mental health. In particular — helping make the transition from the military to citizen life less stressful. Behavioral health experts say when a veteran leaves the military, they lose what they have identified as, for years.
